Lemon Lavender Scones

1 1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour

1/4 Cup Sugar

1 1/4 Tsp. Baking Soda

1/2 Tsp Baking Soda

1/4 Tsp Salt

1/3 Cup Butter

1 T. Dried Lavender

2 T. Grated Lemon Zest

1/2 Cup plus 1 T. Buttermilk

Lemon Glaze:

1 Cup Powdered Sugar Sifted

2 Tsp Grated Lemon Zest

1/2 Cup Melted Butter

1+ T. Lemon Juice

Preheat Oven to 425 degree

1. In medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder,baking soda and salt- stir together to combine. With pastery blender or two forks cut in butter. Add dried levender and lemon zest and combine.

2. Add buttermilk and stir to combine. Place dough on lightly floured surface and knead dough 4-5 times, folding dough in half on top of itself each time. Pat dough into one large ball. Pat out with center slightly higher than then the outer edges. Cut ball into 4 wedges. Spray cooking sheet with cooking spray and place scones on sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes.

3. Meanwhile back at the ranch make the glaze: In medium bowl place powdered sugar and lemon zest, add sugar and enough lemon juice to make a thick glaze. After scones are baked, cool for 3-4 minutes and frost with glaze.

* If you like orange scones omit the lavender and use the orange where lemon is mentioned. These ar excellent!
